X Still Marks the Spot!
Hi there ! Welcome to my Personal Space here on h2g2.
I really love the concept of building h2g2 into the thing Douglas Adams talked about in his vision of what we're attempting to do here. But to achieve that vision, we need your help!
During the 12-plus years I've been on this site I participated in nearly all of the volunteer schemes - the Sub-editors, the Gurus, the Scouts, the ACEs, the Photographers and the Curators. While I've surrendered many of those badges, I'm still planning on being active as time permits.
I've also managed to contribute some material to the Guide. I've written bits for the h2g2 University and The Post. But I'm most proud of my contributions to the Edited Guide - at last count, it appears that I've written, edited or contributed to some 300 entries, including more than 110 written all on my own.
Mostly, I wrote about my home state of Pennsylvania and endeavor to contribute my 'unconventional knowledge' about my local area - which is exactly what Douglas envisioned all of us doing. Why don't you give it a try and see what you can contribute?
Or if adding to the Guide isn't your cup of tea, why not help out at Peer Review. All you need to do there is read an entry and post your comments to the attached thread. If you like it, say so. If it can be improved, say how. It's surprisingly easy and is a good way to improve your writing as well as the overall writing in the Edited Guide!
Now to business (and no that wasn't a toast)....

Are you new to the Guide?
Do you have questions that need answered?
Check out the ACEs home page, the Welcome page, or take the Newcomer's Tour. If you still can't find the answer, or if you simply don't feel like looking, feel free to ask me and I'll probably know the answer or know where to find it.
The Film
In April 2005, the Guide made its long-awaited appearance on the big screen! As soon as it appeared on dvd, we bought a copy and I'm pleased to report that it's my youngest daughter's favourite film.
If you're interested in the Guide in all its various forms, you'll love the BBC's Cult Pages.
